The Beautiful Mind


How can you say that your mind is beautiful? Is it  beautiful or simple? Most of us will really answer that our mind is simple. If you do, then, there's someone who is proven that his mind is a treasure, a valuable that can not be stolen by others. He's John Nash, the main character of this movie entitled: A Beautiful Mind.  

Let me give you a brief summary of this movie. From the heights of notoriety to the depths of depravity, John Forbes Nash, Jr. experienced it all. A mathematical genius, he made an astonishing discovery early in his career and stood on the brink of international acclaim. But the handsome and arrogant Nash soon found himself on a painful and harrowing journey of self-discovery. After many years of struggle, he eventually triumphed over his tragedy, and finally - late in life - received the Nobel Prize.

This award-winning biographical drama film hits a box office sales of $313 million dollars from the allotted budget of $58 million dollars. This was starred by Russell Crowe as John Nash, Jennifer Connelyas as Alicia Nash who is the wife of John, and Paul Bettany as Charles Herman who is the friend of John.

About the Main Character-John Nash

 




John F. Nash, Jr. was born June 13, 1928 in Bluefield, West Virginia. At age 22, he published his influential thesis “Non-cooperative Games” in the journal Annals of Mathematics. He joined the faculty of the Massachusetts Institute of Technology in 1951, but resigned in the late 1950s. In 1994, he was awarded the Nobel Prize for Economics for his landmark work on the mathematics of game theory. His struggles with mental illness and recovery were the subject of the Academy Award-winning biopic A Beautiful Mind (2001), directed by Ron Howard and starring  On May 23, 2015, Nash and his wife died when a taxi they were riding in lost control and crashed on the New Jersey Turnpike. He was 86.
